A fun, colorful snack perfect for scout meetings, nature themes, or healthy after‑school treats. Kids love assembling their own “ladybugs” using apples, spreads, and toppings.
Main Ingredients:
(Ingredient amounts vary depending on how many ladybugs you assemble.)
- 2–3 medium Apples (any crisp variety)
- 2–4 tablespoons Nut Butter, Cream Cheese, or Greek Yogurt
- Raisins or Chocolate Chips (for spots)
- Grapes or Blueberries (for heads)
- (optional) Pretzels
Instructions:
- Prep the Apples:
- Wash apples and slice them into rounds or wedges.
- Remove any seeds or core pieces.
- (Optional) Add Antennae:
- Poke the pretzel sticks into the soft flesh of the apple on one end (the “head”) for “antennae”.
- Create the Ladybug:
- Spread nut butter, cream cheese, or yogurt onto each grape or blueberry at one end as “glue” for the “head”.
- Spread nut butter, cream cheese, or yogurt onto each raisin or chocolate chip as “glue” for the “spots.”
- Serve:
- Arrange on a plate or pack in a container for a fun, themed snack.
Tip: For a group assembly activity, set up a “Ladybug Bar” with multiple spreads and toppings.
